putting down sod and more......

The front yard at 164 Steel Street, was dug up last fall
Graham rented equipment and purchased plumbing supplies to renew the sewer pipes out to the street

WOrk was completed and all well.
But the front yard, although the six foot long trench was filled in, was not resodded.
For some  reason, about half of the yard , the sod. of the existing front yard, was taken off
Now mid July, sod  of the front yard not yet redone.
Well of course, it bothers me.

So I finally  although the ground is not level enough,  decided to try and do it myself

Is a big job to do  To big for me, really
And now is not done correctly really  Should be more level  at least

But,
none the less I am getting it done

BOught some sod  for part of the work and seed for the remainder.
Now have put down all the sod I am going to do.
Have reseeded some of it   and fund a seed mix that works  Bought more yesterday to finish it up  So hopefully by September I will have a lawn that is nice and green, if not  level

We had Emma jeanne out here for a weekend   Was nice to have her for a visit and the first timee she has been here on her own
She pointed out a neat thing to me.  I had bought six wooden,  (I don't know what kind of wood but light)  leaves  painted green, like pond lilies.  Each had a magnet on them  Now I was not sure what the magnet was for  But, Emma Jeanne new right awaya nd put them in the little pond along the driveway  Where they where just perfect.

We bought a dozen gold fish to put in that pond as well  She carefully looked after them all weekend and fed them.

Laura, Emma Jeanne and i did some sewing  making doll outfits sort of  I had bought this box of material and a little dress form   which we used.
And she tried her hand at knitting

Was frustrating, as it is, for her.  But she was almost getting it  If we kept going at it a couple more times she would have the gist of it  and perhaps take an interest in knitting  At least at some time.

Then Zack, Laura and I went up to Sudbury to see the university and have a tour of it.
Was quite interesting for sure.   We stayed two nights there when one night would have been enough.  Had thought we might do more or Zack might like to do more at the university  But that did not seem to work out so much

Is so it  seems, that at this age and time in his life  he is spending to much time on the internet   be it with friends, or games or what.

A very social person he is.
As was his Mother before him.

One of several interesting things that occurred was a meeting and conversation in a little restaurant in a town I just now forget the name of  SOme little off the road spot on the drive home  With a gentleman from Kitchener  He was going to go canoeing  no sailing for  I think it was a month  Quite an interesting person to talk with..................................

I am up to early  since about 4:30 am  Today is the communities in bloom lunch and get together for Barrie.

As well the Royal family of WIlliam and Katherine delivered a new baby boy to their family and the world, yesterday  or maybe it is now, actually the day before.  Un named as of yet but soon to be
